What is a chemical injection skid?

A chemical injection skid (also called a chemical processing skid or chemical dosing skid) is a compact, skid-mounted system engineered to deliver precise amounts of chemical into a pipeline or process stream at controlled flow rates, temperatures, and pressures. The entire system is assembled on a structural steel frame, making it self-contained, portable, and ready for integration into existing operations with minimal site work.

Hart Industries designs and custom-fabricates chemical injection skids at our Pasadena, TX facility. Every unit is built to your operational specifications, pressure-tested before shipping, and backed by our team's 15+ years of average industry experience.

How does a chemical injection skid work?

Chemical injection skids operate on a straightforward principle: store, meter, inject, and monitor. Chemicals are held in a dedicated storage tank, then drawn through suction piping into a metering pump. The pump delivers the chemical at a precisely controlled flow rate into the process pipeline. Flow meters, pressure gauges, and a control system (typically a PLC) continuously monitor and adjust the injection rate to maintain the desired chemical concentration.

Practical Uses of Skids

Water treatment

Chemical injection skids are used to inject chemicals to treat water

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Chemical injection skids help formulate, blend, and purify medicines

Oil and Gas

Chemical injection Skids can be used to inject chemicals that prevent corrosion

Chemical Processing

Chemical injection skids can be used to mix chemicals at specific concentrations
