The Model 8130 operates through an intrinsically safe pulsed electric signal that is
generated by the control monitor and transmitted to the sensors via a coiled cord and
optic-format plug, which allows the status light on the rack monitor to change from a
“non-permissive” (red) to a “permissive” (green) state
